Faíl e Vila Chã de Sá has 2,512 residents in 15.70 km². It is the fourth of the peri-urban ring and the 12th in the municipality, south-west of the urban fabric.
Down 6.0% in the last decade
Between 2011 and 2021 it went from 2,673 to 2,512 residents. It lost population, like several parishes in the ring.
Two settlements, one territory
The 2013 union joined Faíl and Vila Chã de Sá. The City Council places them about 5 km from the urban area, with timber, aluminium and construction firms.
ETAR Viseu Sul
Águas de Viseu confirms the wastewater treatment plant in this territory, serving the south of the municipality, with no public counter.

Two settlements to the southwest
In 15.70 km² live 2,512 people (160.0 inhab./km²). Between 2011 and 2021 it lost population (−6.0%). Faíl and Vila Chã de Sá lie to the southwest, next to Repeses, about 5 km from the urban area according to the Câmara. By day there are schools, timber, aluminium and construction firms, and the Viseu Sul wastewater plant. At night both former parishes are quiet and residential.

The parish council is open in Faíl on Thursday evenings and in Vila Chã de Sá on Monday and Thursday evenings, short hours, typical of a parish with two offices. There is a nursery school and a primary school (EB1) in Faíl and in Vila Chã de Sá. The hospital and the Loja de Cidadão are in the Parish of Viseu.
Pedra D’Águia and the lake
The City Council highlights the Complexo Desportivo Pedra D’Águia, with a lagoon and walking trails, and Roman remains (rock-cut wine presses). This is the parish's local leisure.
The hospital on Line 19
Line 19 links Faíl to São Teotónio Hospital. The Câmara, the tax office, the Citizen Shop and the bus terminal are in the Freguesia de Viseu.
