The 9th most populous parish in the municipality, second in area, with Dão vineyards and scattered villages.
What sets this parish apart from the other 24 in the municipality.
Silgueiros has 2,960 residents in 36.17 km². It is the first of the rural territory and the 9th in the municipality, south of the urban fabric.
Between 2011 and 2021 it went from 3,250 to 2,960 residents. It lost population, unlike some parishes in the peri-urban ring.
The City Council describes it as the birthplace of Dão wines. In September, at harvest time, the Quinta de Lemos opens its doors for Dão de Portas Abertas. It is the high point of the calendar, not an urban park.
The Infante D. Henrique school cluster is based in Repeses. Silgueiros has the 1st cycle, the kindergartens and Escola Básica D. Luís de Loureiro, with 2nd and 3rd cycles, in Pindelo.
The parish is not a single centre: Loureiro, Passos, Pindelo and Lages each have their own weight.
